Welcome to our questions and answers page.
Hopefully any questions or reservations you have will be answered here, but should you have any unanswered queries please do not hesitate to email us at sales@dieseltuningdirect.com, we will be happy
to help.
Is it safe! Quite simply....YES! Our tuning modules fit between the cars ECU and injection and change certain signals on their way back to the ECU.
Nothing in the ECU is changed. No permanent changes are made to the car and the performance is only raised with the tuning unit plugged in, should you remove it from the car then the
engine will be back to standard.
Is there a chance it may damage my engine at all? No not really. Obviously long term wear and tear may be increased if you drive the vehicle hard but
that would be expected even in standard form. Driving styles and bad maintenance are more cause for engine wear.
Is it really that easy to fit?
Yes, in most cases it is. Of course there are a few cars that are a little tricky to fit but that is usually because the connector is in a particularly awkward place. Our systems use
the same connectors as your car does so it is simply a case of unplugging and fitting in between.
Will my car smoke when fitted?
It should not smoke any more than normal. If the system is turned up very high then you might experience slight smoke but if left as sent it should not smoke.
What if I change my car?
No problem. The unit is transferable to other cars and should you require a different fitting loom we can supply this for you.
Will my car pass the MOT Test with it fitted?
Yes, we have never heard of a vehicle failing an MOT test with our system fitted.
Will my car require servicing more
often? No, your car can be run and serviced the same as it has been without any change to the service intervals.
Do I have to fit a sports air filter? Our systems do not require you to make any changes to your car. They were developed to be single point tuning
systems, nothing else needs to be done.
Will my warranty be void? Grey area....there is no valid reason why it should. We recommend as a safeguard to simply remove the system for service and
warranty work and it will then not be an issue. It leaves no trace once removed.
Do I have to tell my insurance Company?
You are required to inform your insurance Company of ANY change to your circumstances and vehicle details. Even tinting the windows or fitting alloys should be notified to your
insurance Company.
What if the unit fails?
It is very rare but should the unit fail, there is a chance that your engine will stop but it is more common for the engine to simply run bad and eneven. Removing the system will
instantly make the engine standard and you can carry on your journey and return the unit for a replacement.
What if I'm still not happy? Send it back in the same condition within 30
days for a full no quibble refund
